St. Michael's Church
A few steps after the Red House a side street leads to St. Nicholas Square and the Church of St. Michael the Archangel.
This Baroque building, built between the 17th and 18th centuries together with the neighboring Teresian complex, is one of the island's main tourist attractions thanks to its splendid majolica floor depicting the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Earthly Paradise. The church of San Michele Arcangelo was designed by architect Antonio Domenico Vaccaro, and the floor is the work of Neapolitan master Leonardo Chiaiese
