Marina Grande
Varying houses, once the homes of fishermen, and the largest beach on the island. Marina Grande is the fishing village on the island of Capri and the landing point for every sea link between Capri and the other resorts in the Gulf of Naples. Hydrofoils and ferries dock at the piers of the commercial harbor, at the end of which are the bus and funicular railway ticket offices to reach the Piazzetta, the offices of the Harbour Master's Office and those of the Azienda Autonoma di Soggiorno e Turismo, where you can ask for any kind of information.
Not far from the pier are the public beach of Marina Grande, the largest on the island of Capri, and some bathing establishments. Near the sea link ticket offices there is also a boarding point for the gozzo, which takes just a few minutes to the beach at Palazzo a Mare.
Just outside the pier dedicated to hydrofoils and ferries, on the right is the bus stop for buses to Capri and Anacapri, while on the left is the cab stand and the funicular station. Continuing along Via Cristoforo Colombo you reach Capri's tourist port, where private boats can be moored.
