Museum of the Alps
Today, the Fortress of Bard is a popular cultural center. The summit structure, named Opera Carlo Alberto, is home to a large and important Museum of the Alps that describes, with the help of modern audiovisuals, the geological, naturalistic, geographical, historical, and anthropological aspects of the Alps, the mountains par excellence.
The modern museum setting, curated by Daniele Jalla and Alain Montferrand, with the use of innovative and spectacular audiovisual technologies, is able to amaze and excite adults and children alike.
The exhibition has 29 rooms that deal with the many faces of mountains: from geological to human events, from traditional peoples to contemporary life, from mountaineering to winter sports, not to mention flora, fauna, languages, traditions, etc.
