Natural Arch and Pizzolungo
The Natural Arch is a rock formation of Paleolithic age 12 meters wide and almost 20 meters high that, due to weathering and geological processes that have affected the island in the past, has acquired a curious arch shape. The view from the small square in front of it is of the Sorrento Peninsula, especially of Punta Campanella, and the islets that make up the Li Galli archipelago.
To reach and admire the Arco Naturale, one can start from the center of Capri and continue along Via Longano, Via Sopramonte and Via Matermania along an undemanding walk of about 20 minutes. From the Piazzetta dell'Arco Naturale, it is possible to turn back or to continue along the steps next to the well-known restaurant "Le Grottelle" that lead to the scenic Pizzolungo path, a road that allows you to admire the enchanting views of the Sorrentine Peninsula and the Faraglioni of Capri, until you reach the Belvedere di Tragara. Along the way you can admire the splendid Villa Malaparte, the home that writer Curzio Malaparte had built on Punta Masullo.
