Gardens of Augustus

The Gardens of Augustus are just a short walk from Capri's Piazzetta, abutting the Via Krupp promenade. The view from its terraces is of the bay of Marina Piccola as far as the Faraglioni.

The Gardens of Augustus originated on the former property that German industrialist Friedrich Alfred Krupp bought in the early twentieth century near the Charterhouse of San Giacomo to build his Capri mansion. After World War I they were renamed "The Gardens of Augustus," a name that has remained to this day, and they house the main species of flowers and plants that can be found on the Island of Capri.
